We are a community group and registered charity (1184207). Our shed is open to everybody and a place to relax, make friends, chat and enjoy tea and biscuits! Currently, the main activity is woodworking in its many guises. We are hopeful of also setting up a ceramics/pottery section in the near future.
The main function of the shed is companionship, especially in these troubled times. During better times we provided a place for people (we have 5 female members) to come and try there hands at, mainly crafts involving wood.
We do however try to facilitate anyone's wishes.
We have repaired things for the community such as benches, fences etc, and as long as we have the skill set we will try everything.
Previously we have made 200 small Christmas tree decorations for the local pre-school kids to decorate and take home from the Little Frogs nursery.
We also made a walker for a little girl who had grown out of the one provided by the Health Service for her disability.
This time of year a popular activity is to make Reindeers from logs
We have refurbished benches in the local area including the one in Alkborough Church grave yard, In addition provided access to two dwellings by building ramps to allow the disabled occupants to get in and out of their homes.
The Shed built Cigar Box Guitar for a customer.
The Shed usually make things for Remembrance Day activities, Halloween and then items for Christmas Craft Fairs.
